Beach Dish Workshop!
Join us at the Free Range Art Studio as we host Terri (Artist and owner of Sweet Songs Pottery) as she brings handbuilding clay projects to our studio. Participants (ages 18+) will each make 3 little dishes adorned with seashells. These can be used for dips, oils, olives, jewelry, etc. they also make great gifts! Some people use them as ring dishes and they serve as beautiful reminders of a special beach location or a memory of your favorite beach trip. Perfect for your dips and as a fun summer addition to your charcuterie spread...you will take home THREE of these adorable dishes so the choice is yours!
In pottery, "handbuilding" refers to the process of shaping clay using only your hands, fingers, and simple tools, without using a pottery wheel. This technique allows for creating ceramic forms without the precision of wheel throwing, offering a more organic and unique approach to pottery. Handbuilding with clay allows you to explore your creativity and make your own unique pottery items.
Your instructor, Terri, will guide you through the process, providing support and instruction. Your creations will be fired and glazed and you will be able to pick them up at the Free Range Art studio in a few weeks.
Price includes clay, tools, instruction, glazing and firing (Terri will fire the pottery and glaze with "beachy" glazes). Pick-up in 3-4 weeks.
This is a beginner-friendly workshop and is byo food/drink.

Terri is an Art Educator of 29 years and lives in Glen Mills with her family. She started her business, Sweet Songs Pottery, in 2020. She exhibits her work locally and enjoys sharing her passion with others through adult pottery classes. Dedicated to traditional hand-building techniques, along with artistic expression, Terri creates pieces that bring beauty and functionality to everyday life. Her collections are fired in small batches and made with care and passion.
