Our Tween/Teen Art night is perfect for kids ages 10+. No experience is necessary, but yet those with more experience in art are encouraged to move forward and experiment and are given the freedom to grow.

This is a fun, laid-back "art experience" that brings kids together and allows them to play with ART!

On Tuesday, 1/28, we will be talking about the pop art style of Andy Warhol. Moving beyond the Campbell's "Soup Can" series, we will look at Warhol's work in his Endangered Animals Series from the 1980's. We will learn about GEL PRINTING and the students will learn how to create gel prints using the provided gelli plates in the Free Range Art Studio. We will play with transfer techniques and how to draw on gel plates and print the image. Students can make prints similar to the "Endangered Animals" series using our images, or they can use other images in the studio to make their art... AND they are welcome to print and bring their own copies of photos that they'd like to turn into pop art!

*If your student has an image(s) they would like us to pre-print, please email those to freerangeartclasses@gmail.com before the event.

Doors open at 5:30 and kids are welcome to bring their dinner and eat in the studio. This evening class is open to all students ages 10 and up and we heartily encourage older teens to attend so there is no upper age limit. Again, this is an instructional class with guidance and as-needed/friendly support to help immerse your tween/teen in different art mediums and techniques but not feel like "school".

About Andy Warhol's Endangered Animal Series:

Each print is vibrantly colored, capturing the beauty of the animals in Warhol's signature pop art style. The Endangered Species portfolio is not only visually stunning, but it also raises awareness about the need for conservation and serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the natural world and the creatures that call it home.
