Adult Workshop: Watercolor Free Spirit, Taught by Jackie Kane on Monday, October 19th 12-3:00!
Step back in time as we capture the nostalgic, whimsical magic of mid-century Halloween!
In this special edition of our popular Watercolor Free Spirit Workshop, we will celebrate the iconic, vibe of 1940s and 1950s Halloween decorations. Inspired by the classic, fun styles of Beistle and Dennison, you will learn how to channel their vintage charm into your very own original creation. Instructor Jackie Kane, will kick off the workshop with a lively, 30-minute practice demo of essential brush handling techniques to achieve the desired effects. Then, the studio is yours! Whether you want to freely draw your own retro design or use one of our customized for any level, vintage tracing templates (featuring classic black cats, toothy jack-o'-lanterns, and flying witches), you’ll have 2.5 hours of pure painting bliss to bring your vision to life. You’ll leave with your very own painted interpretation of Vintage Halloween decorations!
Cost:
This 3-hour workshop is $75 if you bring your own materials (Option A). But, if you'd like to pre-purchase the Option B plan, your materials will be ready for you at the studio! (+$25)

Each kit includes:
Two 9” X 12” sheets of 100% cotton 140lb ARCHES cold press watercolor paper, professional-grade watercolor set of 12 hand poured colors in a metal palette tin, and one Winsor-Newton brush.
Experienced painters who prefer the comfort of their own familiar pro-grade supplies are welcome to bring their favorite personal gear along! Just be sure your palette contains key Halloween colors such as vivid orange, green, yellow and an opaque black along with standard colors.

Introducing Jackie Kane, an artist/photographer who specializes in realistic paintings with an emphasis on vivid colors. Jackie’s passion for creating art extends into her enthusiasm for seeing the progress of her students, while her teaching style is to work with each individual’s artistic goals and skills. Formal training in art, design and photography has made specializing in painting as well as architectural and fine art images a natural fit. Jackie’s own artistic journey has inspired her to teach others the many tips and tricks she has learned and developed over the years. In addition to the essential Fundamentals of Color and Oil Painting, Jackie provides a wealth of information in a fun and motivational way. Jackie is a member of Oil Painters of America (OPA) and National Oil & Acrylic Painters Society (NOAPS). She enjoys life with her two blonde Labradors, Daisy and Leo.
