Adult Knitting for Beginners! Knit a Scarf!
Thursday evenings: 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, plus a free makeup or bonus class on 2/11/26!
In this cozy winter class, we will learn to knit a warm winter scarf! Whether you’ve never knit before or are picking the hobby back up and need a refresher, this relaxed and supportive class will cover casting on, basic knit and purl stitches, combined stitch texture patterns, casting off, and tassel finishing. At the end, you will have a unique scarf to keep or give as a gift, and a new hobby that has been found to sharpen the mind and relax the body.
This class is suitable for beginners and experienced knitters alike, as the pattern will be simple, with options for design embellishments for those seeking new challenges. Yarn is provided for you to choose from and you can borrow needles; however, if you'd like to bring your own yarn and also bring your own needles, the size needle you need is size 10 (6mm). If you'd like to borrow and purchase them in the studio, that's an option as well.
(The bonus class is intended to compensate for any missed classes. We're sorry, we can't offer refunds for missed classes and we provide the additional class for free as an opportunity to make up a missed class.)
This is a byo food/drink class, so if you have food allergies, please email us to let us know so we can inform the class. Our email is freerangeartclasses@gmail.com
Adult Knitting for Beginners: Make a Scarf! Thursdays 6:30-8:30 PM
Eiren has been teaching multiple disciplines of art for many years. After a 2-decade career encouraging children and adults to express their authentic and creative voices, she finally decided to take her own advice in 2020. You can now find Eiren's fine art and illustrations in numerous galleries and at events across the Delaware Valley. She is grateful every day for the ability to choose art and her own fulfillment. Eiren is a painter, fiber artist, and all around creative. Eiren is a consistent instructor with fabulous classes for both kids and adults at The Free Range Art Studio where you can find her knitting and crocheting with students of all ages and experience levels!
From Eiren's website: "Again and again in my life I have turned to nature for reassurance. I have found meaning, beauty, and healing in her colors and textures: they pull at my heart and make me want to capture and share them. Whether I am working figuratively or in the abstract, I draw on this mysterious language to communicate the hope and comfort that I feel is so needed in our vast and hectically-paced world."
Eiren is a natural teacher and has just the right skill set to show our adult participants how to knit. We are so grateful to have found Eiren and witnessed her skills while she taught 15-20 kids how to hand-sew at a time during the Free Range Art Studio's summer camps! So impressive!
