We love traditional painting and drawing - but we also believe art gets especially interesting when you explore unexpected materials, techniques, and traditions. Over the years, our artists have experimented with Suminagashi marbling, copper tooling, alcohol inks, ceramics, anime and cartooning, collage, stamping, metalwork, jewelry making, printmaking, recycled art, fiber and wire, and lots and lots of mixed media. We’ve printed fish using the Japanese art of Gyotaku, transformed plasticware into Chihuly-inspired sculptures, made hiking sticks from 100-year-old reclaimed tobacco wood, turned old leather belts into bracelets, upcycled children’s toys into art, and created with everything from bottle caps and wood to wire, ink, paint, paper, and metal.
In other words, we use A LOT of materials - and we're always exploring something new!
The gallery below is just a small sampling of what has been created in our studio. Take a look around, get inspired, and please ask us questions. You’ll also find links to some of our actual classes and workshops at the bottom of the page.
