The Free Range Art Studio is a collective of artists that embrace "process-based art" - which means we create with an attitude of "discovery" and focus heavily on the experience while letting the outcome happen naturally.  EVERYBODY can create art!  Inspiration is everywhere, and each person "sees" it differently.  We hope you unlock your inner artist!

Students of all ages are encouraged to join us at The Free Range Art Studio. We offer workshops for kids, teens, and adults. Our unconventional approach to teaching sets us apart, and our end goal is for our participants to feel the spark of excitement while learning something new! We are driven to curate classes with specially designed instruction that matches our students' interests. Mixing materials and processes that might not be conventional is at the core of our concept.

We also offer exceptional private group and team-building art workshops. Please email to inquire about these events: freerangeartclasses@gmail.com.

Our goal is to introduce students to a variety of art materials, tools, and techniques that encourage curiosity, exploration, and most of all... confidence!

We like to expose our participants to materials, combinations, and concepts that they have never experienced.  The name "Free Range Art" comes from a love of letting loose and learning about art and design from the world around us - without boundaries.
Tracy Taylor (founder and teaching artist at The Free Range Art Studio) is a lifelong creative whose work has always been shaped by a deep love of design, beauty, and original expression. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fashion design from Thomas Jefferson University, where she graduated cum laude. Her creative path first took form in Endeavor, the clothing store she designed from the ground up in Glen Eagle Square in Chadds Ford, PA.

Tracy and Endeavor were featured on the cover of Delaware Today Magazine after being recognized as a local favorite and winning “Best of Delaware.” The shop became known for its distinctive point of view, blending wearable art, artisan-made pieces from around the world, and Tracy’s own designs into a space rich with texture, style, and visual storytelling.  Always painting, bending metal, and designing functional art, Tracy's store was a delight for the eyes.

That same artistic sensibility continued to shape Tracy’s work as her love of photography, composition, and atmosphere led her next to real estate photography and home staging, where she developed an even deeper appreciation for light, detail, and the power of a thoughtfully curated space.

Today, at the Free Range Art Studio, Tracy brings together her love of art, nature, animals, materials, and creative exploration. She is especially drawn to work that feels expressive, layered, and a little unexpected. Being surrounded by artists, makers, and teachers who value creativity as a way of life is one of the great joys of her work. Whether she is teaching, creating, or simply immersed in the energy of the studio, Tracy feels most at home in spaces where imagination is shared and art is made with heart.

Tracy holds the background clearances required to work with children and loves encouraging others to grow as confident, inspired creators.

* In addition to Tracy Taylor, there are now numerous teaching artists offering workshops in the Free Range Art Studio.  Many of the artists have carried over into other facets of the studio.

Heather Carey skillfully uses her 25+ years of teaching experience and her fine arts degree to bring art to adults and kids of all ages.  In addition to the adult workshops and custom watercolor painting, Heather teaches amazing homeschool art classes and the "Crafts & Kindness" After School Art Club and the Watercolor Art Club with Tracy during the school year.

Terri Davis is a seasoned teacher with 29+ years of experience teaching art in a local school district and is an artist in her own right.  Terri owns Sweet Songs Pottery Studio, and in addition to being a fabulous teacher during our immersive Summer Camps, Terri is now bringing clay workshops to the Free Range Art Studio.  She now teaches both kids and adults handbuilding pottery techniques at our location.  You can find Terri's pottery offerings on our website for the third Saturday of each month!

Tammy Mears is a talented designer and brings her skills to the table for our private art workshops and homeschool classes with Tracy.  Tammy is a wealth of information and has a designer's eye.
Working with others is also one of Tammy's strong points.  She has a way with kids, an easy laugh, and can be found many days in the studio with the kids, quietly supporting them with their art and allowing them to shine as the true artists she knows they are.

Sherri Jarvis from Botanical Bubbles is a talented herbalist and scientist.  Sherri teaches our soapmaking, lip balms, lotions, bath bombs, and fire cider workshops.  There's nothing that can compare to one of the large batches of Sherri's soaps and how it makes your skin feel! We are so fortunate to have Sherri and her skill set at our studio for numerous workshops, teaching the community how to make their own soaps and how to care for their skin naturally with her handcrafted products.

Farren Maillie is a local, skilled fiber artist with experience raising sheep and knows beautiful wool when she sees it.  She is a wealth of knowledge and is incredibly patient with all our students, young and old. Farren has shown our students how to spin wool, needle felt, flat felt, and wet felt! Farren is offering some wonderful felting workshops at the Free Range Art Studio!  What a joy it is to see Farren take a handful of wool and turn it into something beautiful.  What a true pleasure it is to see the smile on our students' faces when they learn how to do it themselves!!

Eiren Graver has been teaching embroidery and hand sewing at the studio and is now bringing adult knitting to the community!  Keep an eye out for Eiren's workshops!  Eiren is a very talented, local artist with paintings on display/available to purchase in galleries and at events on the local art circuit.  Eiren has graced our studio with wonderful embroidery workshops and a free community event where she managed to teach participants how to knit in 2 hours!  Lots of laughter was heard, and we look forward to more fiber arts, knitting, and embroidery with Eiren!

Stay tuned as we update our artisan list!
