Join Hong Bloom — an experienced cardmaker with 15 years of practice — for a hands-on, creative evening exploring the wonderfully satisfying world of paper crafting. In this class, you will:
- Discover the magic of stamping — learn how to use stamps, ink pads, and platforms to create clean, gorgeous impressions every time.
- Explore ink blending — blend colors together beautifully using brushes and ink pads to create soft, layered backgrounds that wow.
- Work with stencils and embossing folders — learn how to add texture, dimension, and pattern to your cards with ease.
- Get sparkly with glitter gel — learn how to apply glitter gel with a palette knife for cards that shimmer and shine.
- Go home with several finished cards — ready to send, gift, or display!
Hong has been making and designing cards for 15 years and brings a wealth of knowledge, tips, and tricks to share! Whether you've never picked up a stamp before or you're looking to level up your techniques, Hong's instruction is approachable, encouraging, and full of inspiration. You'll be amazed at what you create in just one session!
What to bring: Just yourself and your creativity! All materials are provided, including stamps, ink pads, cardstock, dies, adhesives, embossing tools, and embellishments. Come ready to have fun and make something beautiful. Kids and adults welcome!
*This workshop is designed for adults and teens and is also open to creative children ages 6-12 when registered with a participating adult. Children should be comfortable working alongside their adult for the full workshop so that everyone can enjoy a calm, creative studio experience. There's nothing better than creating with a buddy! About the Artist:
Hong Bloom discovered the art of cardmaking about 15 years ago as a personal hobby — and what began as a creative outlet quickly grew into a deep passion. Over the years, Hong has immersed herself in a wide range of cardmaking techniques, from stamping and ink blending to stenciling, embossing, and the sparkly satisfaction of glitter gel and shaker cards. What keeps Hong coming back to the craft table is the whole experience — the joy of experimenting with new techniques, the delight of placing a handmade card in someone's hands, and the warm, creative community that cardmaking naturally brings together. For Hong, every card is an opportunity to make someone feel seen, celebrated, and loved. After 15 years of honing her skills and building a deep library of techniques, Hong is thrilled to share her love of cardmaking with others. Her teaching style is encouraging, approachable, and full of enthusiasm — perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike.
