2026 Crafts & Kindness Club! (This bi-weekly session of art/crafting classes begins in September and ends in December. We have adjusted the timing to run from 4:00-5:45. The session includes 5 classes plus a free 6th class)
The Crafts & Kindness After-school kids' art and design program returns for Fall 2026! "Crafts & Kindness Club" is a unique art class/club for kids in grades 2-7. These lucky kids will learn a new skill, handcraft something for themselves, and also make another for someone they've never met. (1 for me + 1 for you). They will be exposed to the nonprofits for which they are "creating/crafting" and learn about the missions and the "why".
The kids' projects will be discussed and designed with an emphasis on how it will positively affect the recipeints; how it will be given with the expectation that there is nothing received in return, and the kids will discover that "giving" feels wonderful!
A few examples: We have donated hand-stuffed teddy bears and jewelry to Nemours Childrens Hospital, dyed metal flower containers for Petals Please, painted shelter pets with coffee and raised money for the SPCA, made leather pet collars with riveted metal tags from old belts for a rescue, made toiletry bags for young adults in foster care, handpainted fabric tote bags and filled them with ingredients and supplies to make Birthday cakes for the West Chester Food Cupboard, made cards for US troops via Stockings for Soldiers, raised money by painting and donating art for local farm rescues, donated reverse-painted glass paintings to The Luckiest Light inclusive gallery, and donated garden art made from melted plastic and metal to a local nursing home to name a few.
These bi-weekly after-school "Crafts & Kindness" kids will be working with durable mixed materials... acrylic paints, alcohol inks, polymer clay, wool roving, copper, metal jewelry findings, glass, leather, wood... to make really nice projects that not only benefit someone else, but teach the students about functional art. Art that serves another purpose!
The goal is to not only expand their artistic abilities but also their hearts by developing a philanthropic mindset at a young age. The club will be held after school on Mondays from 4:00-5:45 (new timing!). Snacks are welcome (as long as we do not have a participant with serious food allergies).
The upcoming dates for the 2026 Fall session are: 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 11/23, plus a bonus class to serve as a makeup class on 12/7. *All are welcome to attend the bonus/makeup class!
*Please email us at freerangeartclasses@gmail.com if your child has a food allergy or something you'd like us to know that could affect their experience.
Crafts & Kindness Club: Fall 2026 Session (Bi-weekly) 4:00-5:45
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the classes, materials used, and time constraints, no refunds for missed classes will be given. There is, however, a make-up "open session" available at the end of the sessions. That time can be spent making up or finishing missed projects or working on something new. Thank you for your understanding!
We will notify you via email at the email address you provide if the class has to be rescheduled or canceled. We will offer a full refund if we cancel a class and/or you cannot make the makeup date. For a quicker response, you are welcome to text Tracy at 484-221-0173
