Studio Explorers is designed for homeschool students of approximate ages 7–11 who are ready to dive deeper into the art-making process. Each session features a new project inspired by art history, world cultures, or a creative theme. Students will be introduced to various techniques such as painting, sculpture, collage, and printmaking, with plenty of room for personal expression.
This class encourages critical thinking, artistic exploration, and a deeper understanding of the stories and styles behind the art.
Perfect for curious kids who love to create and want to learn more about the "why" behind what they make! Dates for the Fall 2026 Studio Explorers (Friday) Classes are: 9/25, 10/9, 10/23, 11/6, 11/20, and a bonus/makeup class on 12/4! All are welcome to attend the last class, which is a free bonus class. We also plan to have some special offerings for the Holidays after the last class. You can register for those independent of the homeschool classes.
The "Studio Explorers" class is taught by 2 dedicated art teachers with 30+ years teaching experience between them. We believe in trying to keep our teacher/student ratios at 1 to 7, maximum. Having two teachers allows us to dive deeper into certain areas when a child is enthralled and move forward with others when the need arises. We love to be flexible and take the students outside when nice weather allows and having 2 teachers keeps things moving along. Please email Tracy with any questions at FreeRangeArtClasses@gmail.com. Morning classes: We have bundled classes into 5 weeks with a free 6th week. This session is offered as a package for a rate of $144.
We hope that the 6th class adds value for those families who might miss classes due to travel and other commitments... providing you with up to 6 classes for the price of 5.
All students are welcome to attend the bonus/makeup day regardless of whether or not they missed a previous class. Due to the discount and opportunities to make up missed work at the free bonus class, no refunds will be given. We hope you understand!
Timing: The studio will be open and students can be dropped off at 9:50. Class is from 10-11:30.
