Adult Card Crafting: Tiny Works of Art: Saturday, July 25th 1:30–3:30 PM
Handcrafted with Heart: Tiny Works of Art. Made by Hand!
An Adult Cardmaking Workshop on Saturday July 25th, 1:30-3:30
Forget everything you think you know about handmade cards. Today's cardmaking is an art form all its own - combining printed illustration, design, color theory, texture, and paper engineering to create pieces that are fresh, modern, and beautiful enough to frame. The fact that they can also be given to someone you love? That's simply the sweetest part.
Join Hong Bloom, an accomplished card artist with over 15 years of experience, for an inspiring afternoon exploring elevated cardmaking techniques in a relaxed and welcoming studio setting. Whether you're a seasoned maker or brand new to paper arts, you'll discover how satisfying it is to create something both artistic and deeply meaningful. In this workshop, you'll learn how to:
• Master stamping techniques using professional tools and platforms to create crisp, elegant impressions.
• Blend inks like an artist to create soft gradients, layered backgrounds, and stunning color combinations.
• Add texture and dimension with stencils and embossing folders that transform paper into richly detailed artwork.
• Experiment with glitter gels and embellishments to add subtle sparkle, shine, and sophisticated finishing touches.
• Create several finished cards that are modern, artful, and ready to gift to someone special—or keep for yourself.
There's something uniquely meaningful about a handmade card. In a world of quick texts and store-bought sentiments, giving something you created with your own hands tells someone, "I spent time thinking about you." It's a small gift of creativity, care, and genuine connection. Hong is known for her approachable teaching style, encouraging guidance, and wealth of tips and tricks gathered over years of designing cards. You'll leave with new skills, fresh inspiration, and perhaps a newfound appreciation for paper as an artistic medium. What to bring: Just yourself and your creativity! All materials are provided, including stamps, inks, cardstock, dies, adhesives, embossing tools, and embellishments. Come spend an afternoon creating beautiful things, slowing down, and making art that speaks from the heart.

About the Artist:
Hong Bloom discovered the art of cardmaking about 15 years ago as a personal hobby — and what began as a creative outlet quickly grew into a deep passion. Over the years, Hong has immersed herself in a wide range of cardmaking techniques, from stamping and ink blending to stenciling, embossing, and the sparkly satisfaction of glitter gel and shaker cards. What keeps Hong coming back to the craft table is the whole experience — the joy of experimenting with new techniques, the delight of placing a handmade card in someone's hands, and the warm, creative community that cardmaking naturally brings together. For Hong, every card is an opportunity to make someone feel seen, celebrated, and loved. After 15 years of honing her skills and building a deep library of techniques, Hong is thrilled to share her love of cardmaking with others. Her teaching style is encouraging, approachable, and full of enthusiasm — perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike.
