Adult Gnome Needle Felting Workshop: Thurs. November 20th 6:30-8:30
Adults! Join us for this creative needle-felting workshop and make an adorable winter gnome to keep or gift! Thursday, November 20th 6:30-8:30. BYOB!
A gnome symbolizes a variety of delights, most importantly a guardian of nature and the earth, good luck, and protection! Folklore about winter gnomes describes them as household spirits who protect the home and farm during the cold months. These gnomes are also believed to be guardians of livestock and symbols of good fortune, but they are generally shy and prefer to remain unseen. Bring your own adorable gnome to life in this fun and relaxing needle-felting workshop with our talented needle-felting artisan, Farren!
This is a fun, laid-back "art experience" that brings adults (ages 18+) together and allows you to play with soft fluffy wool and make ART! Needle felting is addicting and knowing the right techniques and tools of the trade makes it even more enjoyable! In needle felting we use special barbed needles that lock the scales of the fiber together when we intersect the wools by poking them and interlocking them. What this looks like in "real time" is stabbing fluffy, colorful wool over and over with sharp needles. But, no worries... our instructor, Farren Maille from Whimsical Woolies is a pro! She will guide you every step of the way and you will find yourself relaxing and enjoying the process as you make a beautiful woolen winter gnome! This is a beginner friendly class and all supplies are included! It's the perfect way to spend a winter evening with a friend or make a new one!
