Adults! Fluid Art with Flunk! Friday, October 23rd 6:30-8:30
BYOB and Beginner-Friendly.
Fluid art, also known as acrylic pouring or liquid art, is an abstract art form that leverages the principles of fluid dynamics to create unique and visually compelling pieces. In this adult workshop, all materials are provided to complete 2 beautiful canvases using pouring medium and acrylic paints PLUS you can also make a set of coasters!
Fluid art is a very fun entry way into acrylic abstract art! In this class, Flunk will teach you some of his favorite techniques to create cell-filled, colorful pieces, and each participant will take home (2) 9x12" pieces of unique art, plus a set of ceramic tile coasters (once they are dry of course!). The two techniques you will learn are: The Halo Pour will be done for the 2 canvases; and the Swipe and Spin will be the technique for the coasters. Projects will need to be picked up at a later date. The artist, Flunk, will seal your coasters once they have dried and everything can be picked up approximately 1 week later. You will be notified via email about pickup.
Join us for this creative celebration of positivity, beauty, and color - the perfect way to unwind at the end of the week! Tap into your artistic side - no experience needed. Meet the Artist: Flunk
Flunk is a talented multi-medium artist from Chester County, Pennsylvania, whose work brings together creativity, connection, and a genuine desire to make people smile. His talents with fluid art are endless! Flunk was a highlight of the Free Range Art Studio's immersive summer camp... teaching almost 20 students at once how to achieve beauty while creating cells, waves, ripples and more in their fuid art canvases. In addition to paint pouring/fluid art, Flunk's work has evolved into multimedia and layered-paper shadowboxes, dimensional wood pieces, and, most recently, a colorful cast of original characters! Flunks latest characters and wood pieces are filled with humor, personality, and positivity.
Through “Flunk and Friends,” he has also cultivated a welcoming creative community where art feels accessible, approachable, and meant to be shared. His work can be playful and lighthearted, but also thoughtful and relatable - often reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously.
Generosity is an equally important part of Flunk’s identity as an artist. Since December 2024, he has organized four charity art festivals known as “Flunk Fest,” bringing artists and community members together while raising thousands of dollars for organizations including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Chester County Food Bank.
As both an artist and teacher, Flunk brings enthusiasm, encouragement, and a genuine love of creativity to everything he does. We are honored to welcome him to The Free Range Art Studio and excited for our community to have the opportunity to create alongside him.
