After-School Paint+Posca Marker Workshop #2: It's Raining Cats & Dogs! Mon. 3/2

Monday 3/2/26, 4:15-6:00 pm:  Painting with Acrylic Paints and Poscas to create a canvas of bright, colorful dogs & cats!  OR just DOGS.  OR just CATS...the kids choose their subject and design!  We will talk about the importance of line, scale, and exaggeration in creating a whimsical feel! Every student will create their art on a 9 x 12" canvas board to take home and frame! 
 
This is the 2nd of our 5 after-school art workshops! We will dive deeper into painting with acrylic paints and Posca brand markers. Does your child love colorful art and art with a dash of humor? When using the acrylic markers, your young artist will develop their own style and learn to quickly master painting art with an artistic and whimsical flair.  Coaxing kids outside of their "safe" zone can be challenging.  They tend to want things to look "realistic" or perfect.  Embracing doodles and imperfections is key to this project!
 
Whimsy with Posca pens lets artists plunge into the world of illustration. Those paint-tipped markers are perfect for filling in spaces fast, with bright and solid colors.
 
Want that signature drip or splash? Posca’s versatility makes it almost too easy. The students will play around with contrasting layers; stack bright colors for depth and dimension that truly pops, echoing current artist influences everywhere.
 
Our after-school "Paint & Posca Marker" workshops are designed for creative kids ages 7 and up who are ready to explore bold color, playful imagery, and expressive techniques.
 
Held from 4:15–6:00 PM, each workshop has its own project and is a stand-alone, one-off class. Students may register for any single workshop (or mix and match their favorites) with no long-term commitment.
 
 
Every session focuses on the fundamentals of acrylic paint and acrylic paint markers, helping young artists build confidence with transferring an image, choosing colors, brush control, layering, color mixing, outlining, and finishing details. These classes are process-based and skill-building, while still resulting in exciting, take-home artwork kids will be proud of.
 
 
Whether your child takes 1 or multiple workshops, they will receive their own set of Posca markers at their 1st class! These markers are theirs to keep, use during class, and either take home or leave in the studio... encouraging independence, responsibility, and continued creativity beyond the studio.
Each workshop blends guided instruction with creative freedom, allowing students to personalize their work while learning real artistic techniques.
