After-School Paint+Posca Marker Workshop #3: Wacky Chickens! 3/16

Painting with acrylic paints and Poscas to create dramatic and wacky chickens inspired by artist Jacqui Fehl!  Monday, March 16th from 4:15-6:00 pm!  
 
This is the 3rd of our 5 after-school art workshops! We will dive deeper into painting with acrylic paints and Posca brand markers and create an 11 x 14 canvas. 
 
Get ready for the sassiest flock around! In our Wack-a-Doodle Chicken Workshop, students will use vibrant Posca paint markers to create fun, whimsical chickens that celebrate artistic freedom, humor, and personality. These are no ordinary chickens. Some might like to accessorize, or play an instrument, or even play sports. Each chicken begins with a story, because we believe storytelling is one of the best ways to start an artwork. Who is your chicken? What do they love? What makes them fabulous? Students will be guided step-by-step as they:
-Develop a playful backstory for their chicken
-Choose bold colors and expressive details
-Explore layering, blocking, and line work with Posca markers
-Embrace imperfection, personality, and joy in their art
 
This workshop is all about expressive art with humor - letting go, having fun, and creating artwork that feels alive and full of character. Every chicken will be completely unique, just like its artist. The kids should be ready to laugh, imagine, and let their creativity strut! 🐓🎨  
 
Our after-school "Paint & Posca Marker" workshops are designed for creative kids ages 7 and up who are ready to explore bold color, playful imagery, and expressive techniques.
 
Held from 4:15–6:00 PM, each workshop has its own project and is a stand-alone, one-off class. Students may register for any single workshop (or mix and match their favorites) with no long-term commitment.
 
 
Every session focuses on the fundamentals of acrylic paint and acrylic paint markers, helping young artists build confidence with transferring an image, choosing colors, brush control, layering, color mixing, outlining, and finishing details. These classes are process-based and skill-building, while still resulting in exciting, take-home artwork kids will be proud of.
 
 
Whether your child takes 1 or multiple workshops, they will receive their own set of Posca markers at their 1st class! These markers are theirs to keep, use during class, and either take home or leave in the studio... encouraging independence, responsibility, and continued creativity beyond the studio.
Each workshop blends guided instruction with creative freedom, allowing students to personalize their work while learning real artistic techniques. Perfect for beginners and young artists looking to grow their skills, these sessions are lively, imaginative, and full of color - just the right way to unwind after a school day while making something truly unique!
