Magical Raven with Glass Eye! | Monday, October 19 · 4:15–6:00 pm · Ages 7–14
The month of October is bookended by Halloween, but there's magic and mystery in nature ALL month long!
Create a raven painting with a little magic in its gaze! Young artists will paint a background of their own design - colorful and bright, dark and moody, or soft and ethereal - then add a black raven as the centerpiece. A special GLASS eye gives each bird its final spark of personality!
A raven is a living shadow woven from the midnight sky, its feathers gleaming with an iridescent sheen of deep indigo, violet, and obsidian glass. When the light catches its wings, it looks as though stars are buried beneath the plumage, waiting to spark into flame. They carry the weight of ancient secrets in their bright, obsidian eyes - gazing with a knowing sharpness that suggests they speak the language of the wind and the old woods. When they fly, they do not merely soar; they cut through the air like silent velvet oars, leaving a trail of quiet mystery and a faint, metallic echo of their hollow, echoing calls....that's a RAVEN.
This after-school workshop leaves plenty of room for imagination, so every raven will be one of a kind. Each workshop blends guided instruction with creative freedom, allowing students to personalize their work while learning real artistic techniques. Perfect for beginners and young artists looking to grow their skills, these sessions are lively, imaginative, and full of color - just the right way to unwind after a school day while making something truly unique! Group size is limited to 7 students.
