Tween/Teen Alcohol Ink Cut and Collaged Art! Ages 10+ Tues, Nov. 18th 5:30-7:45
Alcohol inks are fluid, bright, translucent and captivating! They behave unlike any other medium and create gorgeous designs and patterns at the touch of the brush! Tweens and teens will be able to explore different techniques with alcohol inks and learn not only how to build up layers and remove them, but we will also introduce your tween/teen to the possibilities that collage can create. If they'd like, they can cut and paste their alcohol ink papers into new shapes and new art! Also provided: supplies to make an alcohol ink suncatcher with a dyed piece of acrylic.
Alcohol inks are wonderful and fluid, but hard to control. By using these inks to create beautiful designs, the dyed papers can then be cut into shapes like a puzzle to create new images! This gives the student some control over the artwork and allows them to successfully create an image that respresents something that they feel is important... all the while highlighting the beautiful papers! We will look at the work of artist Julie De Boer for the way she segments parts of landscapes so beautifully.
In addition, we will have acrylic discs the students can dye with inks and link to other metal pieces to fabricate their own artistic suncatcher!
Absolutely beginner friendly! This workshop is limited to 8 participants.

(Alcohol inks are semi permanent dyes and are based in isopropyl alcohol so please keep that in mind when choosing attire.)

Every effort will be made to fill our workshops, but on the rare occassion that one does not fill, we will notify you ASAP as to the cancellation and we will refund your fee for the workshop.
