Join us Friday, November 6th, for an adult art experience and FUNdraiser for Ella's Gifts (Ages 16+).  It's a Natural Soap-Making Workshop with Botanical Bubbles at the Free Range Art Studio:

Learn how to make "cold process" bar soaps AND  add a custom soap cane "embed" into your soap with a beautiful butterfly design (you can also make soap with no butterly design if you'd prefer)! Take home approximately 10 bars of your own custom soap in a wooden soap mold.  The Free Range Art Studio will donate 25% of every registration to Ella's Gifts.  Please see info section, below, to learn more about this wonderful non-profit!

Join us for a beginner-friendly soap-making experience led by Sherri of Botanical Bubbles, a local artisan known for her beautifully crafted, all-natural soaps. In this hands-on workshop, Sherri will guide participants through the process of creating a full loaf of cold-process soap made from 100% natural ingredients  - nourishing, gentle, and wonderfully aromatic.  Come for the soap and comraderie, and you will also be giving back to local non-profit, Ella's Gifts.

You’ll learn how to embed a secondary soap design (a pre-made cane) inside your loaf, adding an artistic element that makes each bar as stunning as it is skin-loving. From mixing and scenting to inserting the cane "embed" motif, Sherri’s clear instruction and expert techniques make the process accessible, enjoyable, and endlessly rewarding.  Leave with a beautifully crafted loaf of natural soap that will cure at home into bars perfect for gifting… or keeping all for yourself!

*Botanical Bubbles Bar Soaps are made using sustainable, organic oils, essential or fragrance oils, and colored with micas, clays, or botanical sources.  All of their ingredients are skin-safe, cruelty-free, phthalate-free, sulfate-free, and environmentally friendly.

Learn about the history and lore of soap making and the science behind it. There will be step-by-step instructions and we will work together to create your own unique handcrafted soap. You will take home the class handouts, a soap mold with lid, and approximately 10 bars of soap. Must be at least 16 years old to attend. Doors open at 6:00 pm and this is a byob event.  We will have additional items available for purchase and a percentage of every sale goes back to Ella's Gifts!  We will have some art, jewelry, stuffed animal kits, painting kits, and natural bath and body items available!  Come early to get the best selection...

Cost:

1.) This workshop is $68.00 per person for 1 large soap mold filled with custom soap (approximately 10 bars of soap) As noted, 25% of every registration is donated by the Free Range Art Studio to Ella's Gifts.

  • Sherri, our visiting artisan, is the owner/herbalist at Botanical Bubbles and the teacher behind our monthly soap-making workshops.  She is a wealth of knowledge regarding all things herbal, organic, and locally sourced. Sherri brings such fun and interesting workshops to the Free Range Art Studio that some customers attend ALLL of them.   Sherri will guide you through the steps of soap-making so you will take home a soap mold, instructions, and knowledge to make more soap at a later date... plus you will go home with beautiful soaps for a portion of the price for what it would take to buy them!
Botanical Bubbles began in an effort to find a cause and a cure for Sherri's sons very dry skin. When Sherri began researching, she discovered what many of us don't know... Detergents!
The soap from the local stores was actually detergent. Detergents are normally derived from petroleum and can actually break down the protective layer of the skin. This can lead to dry, cracked, and painful skin. Long story short, more than 10 years ago, Sherri began Botanical Bubbles and continually spends time learning about herbs, base oils, fruits butters, and essential oils. She creates formulas for soaps, lotions, salves, and more and uses them to their best advantage. Sherri shares her love and knowledge of these ingredients at her soap-making workshops.
