Homeschool Art: Ages 5-11 Special Spring Offerings! Fridays 10-12:00

DIVING DEEPER INTO ART! We love to expand creative thinking through art. This Spring, we are offering kids ages 5-11 years, the opportunity to register for a Friday morning class that's a little longer in length and that dives a little deeper into our subjects. Have them join us for 1 class or all 3! Fridays from 10-12:00, ages 5-11 years. Please click below to register for each class that you'd like your child to attend. The options are:
 
(Sold Out) April 24th: Panda Art! Pastels, Sumi Brushes, and Fabric Painting! Join us on a journey as we read a short book and admire the artwork in "Chengdu". The kids will explore and create a large, bold, pastel painting of a panda, learn about sumi brush painting, and paint step-by-step bamboo ink paintings, and also handpaint an adorable sleeping panda on a little fabric pencil bag to remind them of the special story and the Panda with optimism!
 
May 8th: Abstract Expressionism and Copper Respousse!  We will share the work of Jackson Pollock and Jasper Johns as we talk about different ways to interpret traditional subjects such as "Americana" and the American flag. Using paints and a marble to create our first step, we will have a lot of fun making our own version of the American flag in honor of America's 250th anniversary. We'll explore copper tooling and add copper elements to our flags for a unique, multi-material touch to be cherished for years!
 
May 22nd: Stencils, Nature, and UV Light!  Exploring Cyanotypes! There's nothing better than using what nature provides to create jaw-dropping, experimental art! Using UV light, we will teach the kids about the chemical process and history behind cyanotypes as we make multiple prints and even print on fabric!
