Adult Natural Soapmaking with Milk: Friday September 25th 6:30-8:30pm
Adult natural soapmaking for ages 16+ on Friday, September 25th 6:30-8:30pm.
Milk soaps are popular because they elevate a basic bar of soap into something noticeably gentler and more nourishing for the skin. During saponification, replacing water with milk adds natural fats, sugars, and lactic acid, which create a creamier lather, mild exfoliation, and a more moisturizing feel. The result is a bar that many people find less drying and more soothing, especially for sensitive skin. Different types of milk - like goat, coconut, or oat - also allow for subtle variations in texture and benefits. During the milk soap class you will learn about the extra complexity that milk introduces to the soapmaking process. It can scorch or separate if not handled properly, so learning temperature control and technique makes a big difference in the final product. This hands-on class helps participants understand the “why” behind the process, avoid common mistakes, and confidently create high-quality soap.
This is a beginner-intermediate soap-making experience led by Sherri of Botanical Bubbles - a local artisan known for her beautifully crafted, all-natural soaps. In this hands-on workshop, Sherri will guide you through the process of creating a full loaf of milk soap made from 100% natural ingredients - nourishing, gentle, and wonderfully aromatic.

About your Artisan:
Sherri, our visiting artisan, is the owner/herbalist at Botanical Bubbles and the teacher behind our monthly soap-making workshops. She is a wealth of knowledge regarding all things herbal, organic, and locally sourced. Sherri brings such fun and interesting workshops to the Free Range Art Studio that some customers attend ALLL of them. Sherri will guide you through the steps of soap-making so you will take home a soap mold, instructions, and knowledge to make more soap at a later date... plus you will go home with beautiful soaps for a portion of the price for what it would take to buy them!
Botanical Bubbles began in an effort to find a cause and a cure for Sherri's sons very dry skin. When Sherri began researching, she discovered what many of us don't know... Detergents!
The soap from the local stores was actually detergent. Detergents are normally derived from petroleum and can actually break down the protective layer of the skin. This can lead to dry, cracked, and painful skin. Long story short, more than 10 years ago, Sherri began Botanical Bubbles and continually spends time learning about herbs, base oils, fruits butters, and essential oils. She creates formulas for soaps, lotions, salves, and more and uses them to their best advantage. Sherri shares her love and knowledge of these ingredients at her soap-making workshops.Fine Print/Details About Cancellations/Illnesses
