February 22, 5:30-7:30
Create colorful abstract art with uncommon painting and printmaking tools in this art class for tweens/teens! In this hands-on workshop, the students will learn how to paint with squeegees. They will squirt, squish, and spread the paint and believe it or not, they will have a piece of art for framing! They will also learn how to make their own printing plate and make reproducible prints with printing ink. Free Range Art's "tween/teen" art classes are specially designed for kids ages 9+. Our classes emphasize the process of making art, allowing students to enjoy the experience without worrying about keeping up with others. Our multi-media projects inspire creativity and keep your young person engaged and excited about art. The beauty of this particular class is that there are so many ways we can explore the artistic side of abstract art. Squeegee painting is fun and addicting. Printmaking is also addicting. Once the paintings are finished, they can be left as is, and framed, OR they can be cut into shapes to make layered paper art or even paper lanterns. Stations will be set up for all of this! Class is from 5:30-7:30 and food is allowed if the kids want to bring dinner or snacks.
