Tween/Teen, Forest Friends with Colorful Scarves ! Tues. Jan. 13th 5:30-7:45

Our Tween/Teen Art night is perfect for kids ages 10+. No experience is necessary, but yet those with more experience in art are encouraged to move forward and experiment and are given the freedom to grow.

On Tuesday,  January 13th, 5:30-7:45, we will be learning about etching and using smaller scratch boards to create impressive, high quality images that are both graphic and fun.   By controlling the depth of their cut/scratch, the sudents control how light their image will get. The harder they press, the lighter their image line. This process is helped along by transferring an image using a chalky white transfer material beforehand. We encourage the students to work on images that have fur,  or texture.  We will provide reference images of forest-dwelling animals and then for added humor, the kids can add human accessories like scarves and hats and we will show them how to add COLOR to just those elements!  To finish their art, we encourage framing and adding twigs with hot glue!  All supplies provided...

Doors open at 5:30 and kids are welcome to bring their dinner and eat in the studio. This evening class is open to all students ages 10 and up and we heartily encourage older teens to attend. There is no upper age limit. Again, this is an instructional class with guidance and as-needed/friendly support to help immerse your tween/teen in different art mediums and techniques but not feel like "school".

Reserve your space early before these tween/teen events fill up. Maximum class size is 9 students.

Enrollment closes when the workshop is full, or 4 days before a workshop date.  If the workshop is full, please email us to be added to the waitlist.

Due to the personalized and hands-on nature of our workshops...Our policy is that we do not offer refunds or transfer registrations to a later date/different workshop at the studio. Exceptions can only be made if there is a waitlist for your workshop.   Our artists prepare and purchase materials for each individual workshop and rely on the headcounts we provide to them along the way. Thank you for understanding!  If you would like to gift or sell your seat to another person, we would be happy to make a name change for you.

Exceptions:  If, for some reason, you cannot attend and cannot find a friend to take your spot, please email us, and if there is a waitlist, we might be able to transfer your spot to another participant, but only if there is a waitlist with a participant who can attend.
