Tween/Teen Art Night! Sweet Treats and Color Confidence: Wed. April 15th, 5:30

Sweet Treats: A Colorful Exploration Using Acrylic Paints!

Tweens and teens - kids ages 10+ - Join Heather Carey in this beginner to intermediate painting class where she will guide young artists step by step through the entire process as they paint colorful, fun sweet treats!

This Tween & Teen Paint Night is designed for young artists who want to paint with more confidence, freedom, and expression. New to painting?  No problem!  Are you already a talented painter?  Even better!  Guided by artist Heather Carey, all students can learn how to work with bold color, large brushstrokes, and a looser, more expressive painting style that encourages movement and energy in their work.

Throughout the evening, artists will create two frame-worthy paintings:  the first on paper to explore ideas and build confidence, and the second on canvas where they’ll apply what they’ve learned in a finished piece. Along the way, students will discover how colors interact, how small shifts in hue can make a painting feel brighter, softer, richer, or more playful, and how layering and intentional brushwork bring a painting to life.

Heather will demonstrate exactly how to build layers, mix colors, and make confident choices while still leaving plenty of room for each artist’s individual style to shine. Whether a student is brand new to painting or already loves to create, this class focuses on building skills, creativity, and joy. Mistakes are not only welcome - they often become the most exciting and meaningful parts of the artwork.

What’s Included:
• Full-length, step-by-step instruction with guidance from start to finish
• Color charts with every paint-mixing recipe, so students always know how to mix what they see
• Two completed, frame-worthy paintings to take home

Come as you are. Bring your curiosity, not your inner critic.

Let’s explore color, paint something delicious, and do this together!

Food, snacks, drinks welcome!  Please let us know if your student has a food allergy we should be aware of: freerangeartclasses@gmail.com

Some people say we're a "hidden gem", and we kind of like that!  We're close in proximity to major roads and some of the area's best shopping/dining, yet we are right off of some of the most beautiful rural roads in the southeastern PA area.  We are located at 381 Brinton Lake Road, Thornton, PA 19373

We are located behind the historic Mill (the Offices at the Mill).  When you enter the parking lot, immediately turn right and go behind the main building.  We are a short drive down the gravel lane and are in the smaller "Carriage House Collective" building behind the main building.  We are on the 2nd floor!

Our studio is up the exterior staircase and is byo food/drink!  We can't wait to welcome you to our cozy space!
