Summer Week 2: "Scrappy Dogs"

Doggone Dogs! Inspired by the book: "The Night I Followed my Dog" (a humorous, short book which we will read together) we will make small (10") 3-D dog sculptures defining each dog's special hobby, love or skill. Using comics, books and other decorative papers the students will decoupage a paper mache dog and give it a name on a handmade leather dog collar which they can make. They can add a hobby for their dog...making their dog skateboard on a paper mache skateboard, surfboard, etc.! They will create mixed media paintings of dogs in cars in the style of Ron Burns among other doggone cute projects involving paints, wood, metal and whatever they can dream up!
